Hey everyone,
I'm shooting a music video for the new JUNKIE KUT single at Hippos in Swansea on Saturday 4th October (in the back room) and I was wondering if you would like to come along and be in the video in some way? We will be shooting just after 1pm, so if you would like to be involved, please come along for 1pm. Rounding up around 4pm latest.
The track is called OutPSYders, and is dedicated to the weirdos, the oddballs, the freethinkers, the rebels. It's based on my own experience of being an outpsyder in this society and the feelings of disempowerment (and therefore its opposite) that it can bring. The track represents the idea of personal strength that we develop from being a weird person in a painfully grey world, and the sense of power we build within ourselves and our communities against intolerance and discrimination.
Some examples of shots that we had in mind were:
- Live shot with soundsystem and banners in the background. JUNKIE KUT performing the track, with people jumping around or going mental behind. Possibly everyone shouting the chorus of the track behind me too. This shot can be adapted to what people are comfortable with also, for example, people could just stand still and face the camera whilst I perform the track (for a sense of contrast)
- Close up shots of people's faces. Nothing else on screen. Simply observing the unique beauty of a person's face as it is. Inspired by the documentary HUMANS.
- Close ups of textures, clothing, bodies etc for abstract footage.
- General dancing and disorder with strobe and / or light and smoke machine.
You will not be expected to do anything your uncomfortable and I really want this to capture peoples diversity and people being exactly who they are. Vulnerability and all! This is as much about you as it is about me.
I will be putting a bit of money behind the bar for anyone who wants a drink too.
Come dressed as you prefer to present, goth, punk, weird, geek, YOU!
