4th World Congress of Psychogeography - Swansea

The final iteration of 4WCoP!

All good things must come to an end, and the hitherto unceasing Fourth World Congress of Psychogeography is no exception. Despite our best attempts at resistance, we’ve been eaten by bureaucracy after 10 years. Before we draw 4WCoP to its official close, we invite you to join us for a final congress this autumn. Our theme is: ‘After that, this:’

This Congress takes place in Swansea, a city on the sea that continues to undergoing immense urban change with the largest urban regeneration program in all of Wales. Almost entirely flattened during the Second World War, this post-industrial city centre boasts an almost dizzying array of urban forms to explore. Poet Dylan Thomas once quipped that his hometown was an “ugly, lovely town,” while the cult film Twin Town offered the more irreverent label “Pretty Shitty City.”

Hosted in Urban HQ in their Court Room, we aim to give the 4th World Congress a memorable farewell celebration and celebrating what's to come. Program and timings will be incoming, once we hear back from our open call participants in the next few weeks. We have a wide range of different mediums in this year's congress, from walking tours, talks, drifts, games, photography, film, and performance.
