Sutton Music’s Drum Day ‘25 is a day for all drummers, whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out with your first pair of sticks and a practice pad!
During the day we’ll have offers and demos in-store so you can try out products and get some advice on anything you need to help improve your drumming. The shop is open from 11am-4pm so come along and have a look around!
From 4.30pm we have a fantastic line up of workshops and performances to inform and inspire. With our drum tuning workshop, Remo’s tuning guru, Jeff Davenport will take you through the best way to get your drums sounding their best and pass on tips to create specific types of sounds and effects. Jeff has a brilliant way of explaining the process of tuning and will be able to guide you through any problems you have in getting your drums to sing! Edgoose is joining us to talk all things electronic drums. What Simon doesn’t know about digital and hybrid setups isn’t worth knowing. He is the go to person in the industry for setting up digital drums and working with them on gigs or in the studio. His workshops will present how to get the most from your digital drums and inspire how to use them in your setup.
At 6.30pm the event moves to Sutton's fantastic music venue, the Sound Lounge (just a short walk from Sutton Music)
Sophie Alloway is one of most in demand drummers working in London and has been a part of the session and jazz scene for many years. She will present a workshop to illustrate how to be a versatile player and become a creative musician.
From 7.15pm there will be an opportunity for drummers and like minded people to hang out and discuss all things drums, music and life! Our workshop leaders will be on hand to answer questions along with a short on stage interview session. There will be the chance to enter the prize draw and share your favourite rudiment on the practice pads at the Meinl drumstick area!
To finish off the event The Sophie Alloway band will play a set of funky classics featuring Laurence Cottle on bass and Paul Stacey on Guitar. Enjoy these world class musicians playing in a beautiful space with like minded people!
Tickets are for the event from 4.30pm including 2 workshops at Sutton Music, another workshop/masterclass at the Sound Lounge along with a drum hang and performance by the Sophie Alloway Band. The event finishes around 9.15pm.
