Processing Grief: Understanding Grief at a Young Age: How to Help Children Cope

Grief in young children often looks different than it does in teens or adults. This FREE Hamilton Connects presentation is a collaboration with Children’s Wisconsin and is intended for families of our youngest students, 4K- 6th grade. Many families are asking whether their child is grieving in healthy ways following the tragedies our community recently faced. This presentation focuses on how young children experience and express grief at different developmental stages. Learn what is typical, what signals a need for additional support and how to help your child, and yourself, process tragic events.

About the presenter:
Children's Wisconsin is a nationally ranked, freestanding, 298-bed, pediatric acute care children's hospital located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin and is a member of the Children's Wisconsin health system, one of two of the children's hospitals in the system.
