Serve Our Schools

Across our city, schools are facing increasing challenges in providing food security, mentorship, and community support for students. With rising grocery costs and growing needs, now is the time to come together and explore how we can serve our schools more effectively.

Join us for Serve Our Schools, a gathering of organizations, churches and school leaders who are committed to ensuring every child has access to the support they need. This event will feature insightful presentations, impactful storytelling, and interactive discussions on how we can work together to strengthen school communities.

You’ll hear from three key organizations making a difference in local schools:

CityReach Care Society partners with schools through their Adopt-a-School program, providing food security, seasonal support, and mentorship programs. Their Food for Families initiative also ensures children and families have access to nutritious meals in times of need.

City Dream Centre works with underprivileged schools and families, offering food hampers, hygiene packs, and school support programs to help students thrive. Their mobile dental clinic provides essential dental care for children in need, and their education programs equip families with life skills for long-term stability.

VUM focuses on education and mentorship by providing specialized one-on-one tutoring and free music lessons for children facing learning challenges. Their work empowers students, builds confidence, and fosters long-term academic success for children from lower-income families.

Following the presentations, a panel discussion and breakout sessions will give you the chance to connect directly with these organizations, ask questions, and explore ways to get involved.
