Scary Sugar Cookie Decorating Class!

Interested in learning more about decorating sugar cookies? The Cookie Lady is here to help! In this 2-hour class, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided in this class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile.

You'll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies plus a few cool techniques we'll cover in class! More details on refunds, things to bring, credits, and FAQs are below - looking forward to having you with us.

About this Class

This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We’ll be decorating a set of 6 scary-fun Halloween themed cookies - prepare for a “gourd” time with your pumpkin spice and everything nice!

We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate!

This class is on October 29th and starts at 7 – 9 sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating for up to 12 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo!

This class is good for ages 8 and up, but if you'd like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home, plus - we'll send you the class PowerPoint so you can teach them yourself!

The class will be held at "Just Cakes Bakeshop" HQ in Cloverdale located at #106-17957 55 Ave, Surrey BC V3S 6C4.Nervous about the parking situation? Don’t be! Parking is pretty easy. There are spots available in front of the building and on the road.

Please note: A minimum of 6 participants is required for this class to proceed. If the minimum is not met, the class will be canceled. In this case, you may choose to receive a full refund, transfer your registration as a credit toward another class, or receive a take-home cookie decorating kit.

Things to Bring

Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience! 

• Bring your glasses! There’s a reference slide deck to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away, seeing glasses may be a great bet. 
• Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class
• Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.

A little about me – I’ve been baking sugar cookies since I 2016 – and I’ve not put down a scribe since (don’t know what a scribe is? I’ll teach you in class!). My favorite cookie themes to decorate are for baby showers and first birthdays – but I can do pretty much anything if icing’s involved. I love what I do –who wouldn’t love making cookies?! It’s the sweetest job in the world!

Showing Symptoms After 7-Days Out:

For any sickness symptoms prior to your class’s start time but after the 7-day refund policy, please email us before your class’s start time, and we’ll roll you into an upcoming class!

You Don't Show Up or Email Prior To Class:

If I do not hear from you before your class’s start time, and you do not show up for class, I won’t be able to offer you a refund or roll you into the next class even if you're sick. So please reach out before class if you’re feeling sick!
