Art Fundamental & College Portfolio Prep for Teens
A dynamic program that blends a broad range of AP art skills with hands-on portfolio planning. In our first course, led by Lindsey Shaw, an Otis College of Art and Design graduate, retired luxury furniture and lighting designer, and a current art teacher, we will create a portfolio ready piece and curate work from class and home to create a strong, well rounded portfolio.
From positive evaluations and critiques to methodical art applications that showcase the unseen skills in the student’s body of work, this class is perfect for the middle and high school student with the goal of going to an art school after high school or just looking to perfect their Art Journey.
Whether you are a middle school student starting your journey or a senior in high school looking to solidify a collection of work, this course will help you navigate the expectations and relieve anxiety around the can be daunting process.
Through six focused sessions, students will build confidence in their work as well as learn and apply new skills. As a class we will set each other up for success.
The course will start with a critical look at what each student needs to add to their portfolio. We will look for the gaps in their body of work. Each student will then have 6 weeks to create a piece from a menu of mediums and subjects.
Our goal is for each student to finish the course with a clearer understanding of what they need to include in their portfolio, peace of mind in entering the next steps, and a great new piece to round out their portfolio.
