Author event with Erika Lynn Adams

Award-winning local author, Erika Lynn Adams will be stopping by Foxes & Fireflies Booksellers from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 27 for a meet and greet and discussion on Auditory Processing Disorder (APD).
Her young adult book, "Allie's Adventure on the Wonder, recently won the 2025 NYC Big Book Award.
The semi-autobiographical book follows 14-year-old Allie Little who lives in a perpetual wonderland, with all the confusion and none of the wonder. Diagnosed with APD, she is continually forced into rabbit holes of misunderstanding and anxiety.
Adams is hoping to share her story with teachers, parents and struggling students. While ADHD and bipolar get a lot of attention, Adams wants to shine a light on APD.
"APD could explain some struggles that people from all walks of life are going through, and I hope my experience can guide them on finding the help they need," she said.
