See the film at SUNSHINE BEACH SLSC - 6:30pm Monday 8th DEC - everyone's welcome!
This is a fantastic chance for our members, families and the wider community to come together, enjoy an inspiring Australian film and support the ongoing work of our club.
The Coolangatta Gold, a punishing endurance race scripted as part of a 1980’s romantic film, originating from the sport of surf lifesaving.
Ali Day the greatest ironman of all time, aims for his tenth title but his body is older and a field of competitors are desperate to beat him, including the young gun Conner Maggs. Lana Rogers is the reigning women’s champion, but can she conquer the fear of collapsing as she did in the 2021 race, to win a third time?
Chasing the Gold captures an iconic Aussie culture with an intimate portrayal what it takes to be a heroic person, as well as, a winner of The Gold.
Ali Day says: “I hope the film encourages the next generation to get out in the surf, have a crack, and never give up on their dreams.”
Lana Rogers says: “I’m excited for this movie to come out, to not only show the work we put in as athletes and the work our coaches put in, but to showcase how special the race is.”
