One year ago today, I spontaneously invited a man who I connected with online to join me for a walk on the beach. Our conversations at this point had been slightly awkward, I knew he was widowed after a long happy marriage and speaking with women and dating was not at all the norm for him. He said yes!
We spent 6 hours that evening talking while we walked the beach, and continued our conversation

During those hours of conversation we realized we had some important things in common, the most being our love for our children and grandchildren. It created a comfortable bond between us.
Here we are a year later. Our love for each other grew quickly and was a surprise to both of us, but it felt so right. We have navigated through some trials, but the great times and constant laughter far outweighed those moments. Through this we have grown to love each other deeply and realize that a life apart was not an option. We have enjoyed many adventures, the emphasis being on adventure!
Tim spontaneously proposed to me sitting on the beach having a quiet time together after dinner during a family vacation. We chose to remain quiet for the moment, but the excitement was great and hard to contain. It was with joy we shared our news with our children, extended family and friends after we returned home. We are blessed to be surrounded by amazing people who share our joy!
In mid-September we moved into our beautiful home in Beaufort (thank you Matt Raehn) and have enjoyed making it ours together, not without some minor differences of opinion, but ultimately Tim said yes to everything, I am a lucky girl!
In 2026 I will marry Tim Collins barefoot on the beach surrounded by our family. I cannot wait!
Thank you Tim Collins, for saying yes to a walk with me one year ago today. For unconditional love (Im not easy!) For LOTS of laughter, for my pink bike. More kisses than i could ever count. For embracing and supporting my faith in God. For being the best handyman ever! For opening your broken heart to me, and being willing to love and trust this
imperfect girl. I promise you will never regret it.
Here’s to us Baby! I am yours forever 🥂
