Build East - Track construction work session - Volunteers needed!

The 1st Saturday of each month Build East day is back again for the new year on Saturday, January 3, 2026! With track already past Castlewood Bridge over Pleasanton-Sunol Road and some leveling/tamping already done up to and over Castlewood, the goal for this session is to start to build track again further east. We no longer have panels so this will good old fashioned stick rail construction. Would you come help us reach this next milestone for this project which is to get trains to and OVER Castlewood Bridge?

Please wear safety boots, hard hat, orange or green reflective safety vest or safety orange NCRy t-shirt, safety glasses, and gloves. Hearing protection is also highly recommended. Please bring water, and your lunch as there is no place close to the worksite to get food. Yes we bring our railborne Porta-Potty for those who may be curious as to the availability of facilities. Please meet at Brightside Yard (5550 Niles Canyon Road) at 8 AM as we plan to leave the yard by 8:30 AM.
