Shrubs, Switchels and Mocktails

Shrubs and Switchels are both traditional North American 18th-century beverages. Shrubs were all the rage in colonial America. They also served as an acceptable alternative to alcoholic spirits during the Temperance movement. Shrubs help combat heat and keep energy levels up and were often consumed when in the field for a long day of work. Switchels are instant shrubs—we will be combining honey, and molasses and apple cider vinegar to make a spicy ginger switchel. Mocktails are a more moden craft . Now let’s use those two skills to make some pretty cool non-alcoholic drink alternatives, fruit and herb focused. You will go home with a book of recipes and the skill to create your own glass of awesomeness
