Aeria Shawl Knit-along Kickoff, Intro to German Short Rows, Thursday, October 16, 5:30-6:30 pm

Join us for our Autumn Knit-Along (KAL) to make the Aeria Shawl by Linnea Ornstein. A Knit-Along is when a group of knitters get together and all work on the same pattern. There is no deadline, and the Autumn KAL runs from October to December. Prizes will be awarded for participants who complete their projects using Naked Sheep yarn by the end of December. Knit on your own or join us every Thursday night in the shop from 5-7 pm for Knit & Stitch to compare your progress or get help with your project.
In the kickoff class, we will teach short rows using your own scrap yarn and help you get started with the shawl. If you are already comfortable with short rows, no need to join the class to participate in the KAL. We will also review the pattern layout and answer any questions!
The fabulous Aeria shawl is much admired in the shop. It is a two-coloured shawl knit sideways from tip to tip. The leaves are shaped with short-rows, and the entire shawl is knit in garter stitch. Be warned - this shawl is highly addictive!
The popular shop sample uses Berroco's Sesame in the Fruit Salad color, and Berroco's Ultra Wool in the Cream color. Stop in the shop to select your own colors. KAL participants received 10% off of their supplies. The Aeria Shawl pattern is available on Ravelry using this link:

Experience Required: should be comfortable knitting and purling
Supplies Required: Yarn, Knitting needles, pattern, 2 different colors of any scrap yarn if attending the class
