I am kicking off a concert series in Stratford called The Roots Ramble. The first five shows of this series is being presented in association with Tim Harrison and his OnRush Festival series. Tim is as passionate about music as I am. We've been conspiring many things as of late and this is a project that really compliments both of our skill sets and love of music.
We both want to help the community in various ways, but mostly by presenting high quality live music events and fostering the sense that Stratford is a music destination city where people will travel here to see shows in addition to local fan interest. Hence the launch of The Roots Ramble, a series I've been envisioning for a few years now.
The Roots Ramble series format, musically, is a nod to hometown legend, Richard Manuel from The Band, who absolutely embodied Roots music with his soulful passionate voice. The name Ramble is a nod to his bandmate Levon Helm, who ran a concert series from his barn in Woodstock, New York called The Midnight Ramble. I've always been inspired by their legacy, so this series is based on my lifelong love of their music and all things Roots music.
Roots - Folk • Blues • Country • R&B • Soul • Rock & Roll. It pretty much covers it all. Oh, and a little Jazz thrown in for good measure where and when we can.
The premiere show will be kicking off this incredible series on Saturday, Oct. 11th at Grayson Mills with local son, Stevie T Band (they sold out their last two shows, so you better jump on this one sooner than later) plus moi with my band String Bone, plus special guest the sassy and witty Ginger St. James all the way from Hamilton who will be bringing her awesome rockin' tunes. Get your dancin' shoes on for all three bands. It's going to be a barn-burner!
Ticket link will be posted in the first comment.
