About the event

Open House Tour- Meet Walt Whitman

Our second event for Camden County History Month. Come out to tour the farmhouse and meet with Walt Whitman at his local vacation spot. In the years following the Civil War, Whitman began a friendship with a tenant of this 18th century farmhouse and made frequent visits to stay with the Stafford family at their (current day Laurel Springs) home along Timber Creek where he wrote excerpts of his writings: Leaves of Grass & Specimen Days.

The Farmhouse will be open from 11:30-2:00pm. Free Entry.
