Kitchen Connection (Junior) is a free, fun, and interactive cooking class.
This session will be specifically for 8 - 10 year olds. Participants will gain confidence in the kitchen and make new friends while mastering practical life skills and learning about positive eating habits. 🥦🥗 We will cover a range of topics from food and kitchen safety, how food connects us, and food mapping, to creating your own recipe. We will explore the exciting world of food and share delicious meals around our community table.
Ages 8 - 10 years old
Wednesdays starting January 28th
4:00 pm – 7:00pm
6-week session.
Registration Information:
Participants must be able to read and follow the steps of a simple recipe and be ready to learn to work with knives, stoves, ovens and hot pots, and other kitchen equipment, as necessary. All participants must wear closed toed shoes and have hair tied back.
This is a group class where youth work together under the supervision of a staff member and volunteers. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to provide one on one support to participants. If your child would like to participate but requires individualized support, we would welcome a family member or support worker to accompany them**.

Please note that The Local Community Food Centre Kitchen is not an allergen free kitchen, and we are unable to accommodate serious food allergies.
