Special Guest Lecture by Oxford Professor, Matthew Bevis

Join us for this rare opportunity to hear Matthew Bevis speak: "Beginning to Wonder: Forms of Astonishment in American Poetry."

Matthew Bevis is based at the English Faculty in Oxford, where he runs Poetry at Keble. His books include Comedy: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford, 2012), Wordsworth’s Fun (Chicago, 2019), and Edward Lear: Moment to Moment (Ikon, 2022). His recent essays have appeared in Harper’s, The New York Review of Books, and The London Review of Books. He is currently finishing Then Again: Notes on Lyric for Harvard.
