This is not your typical book talk!
Resonant Minds explores how music can be used as a practical tool for emotional regulation, focus, and connection—backed by science, brought to life through story, and made real through shared experience.
In this interactive event, co-authors Sara Leila Sherman (musician, educator, founder of Mozart for Munchkins) and her father Mort Sherman (longtime educator and national leader in public education) bring together two generations of insight into how music can support mental wellness across all ages. Through live music, breathwork, science-backed strategies, and audience reflection, they’ll guide participants through simple musical tools that shift mood, release creativity, and create connection—from “breathing with Bach” to groove-based activities and shared listening moments.
You’ll hear behind-the-scenes stories from the book, discover how music engages the brain and nervous system, and experience the power of music in real time—no music background required.
This event will also feature special guest musicians—from Broadway artists to conservatory-trained instrumentalists—who help bring the book’s stories and interactive tools to life.
