We are delighted to invite you to this fabulous gig, that is taking place on Tuesday 26th August, at Choose Days at The Glebe 😍
A Gillespie Blues Band gig is a rarity these days, since Jim moved to France in the Spring of 2020
Just over 2 years ago, in May 2023, Jim came back to England for a brief visit, and during that time, the Gillespie Blues Band reformed for just 2 gigs, 1 of which was here, for Choose Days At The Glebe. And what a beautiful night that was !
We always live in hope of Jim making return visits and now the wait is almost over, as Jim will be in England for a very short while, and once again, the Gillespie Blues Band are getting back together to perform just 2 gigs, and much to our delight, this is 1 of those 2 😍 The first appearance will be at Congleton Jazz and Blues Festival, on this coming Sunday, the 24th August. Then it's next stop The Glebe.
So roll on Tuesday, when Jim and his Gillespie Blues Band will be here, to bring you 2 full sets of groovy Blues music, in their own inimitable style. They will again be joined "onstage", both at Congleton and here, by Bill Lamdin, who was the original Blues Harp player for the band. Bill is travelling up from his home in London, especially to be reunited with the band, for these 2 rare concerts 🤩
For those who aren't already familiar with the legendary Gillespie Blues Band, here's some further information for you....
