Cask Ale Week is all about celebrating Britain’s favourite drink – proper cask beer. It’s a nationwide event where pubs and breweries come together to shine a spotlight on real ale, giving customers the chance to discover, enjoy and share it through special events and activities.
The idea first came about in the early 2000s, thanks to Cask Marque, and it’s now backed by brewers, pub groups, and trade organisations across the country – including the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). Cask Ale Week for 2025 runs from Thursday 18th to Sunday 28th September.
We’re proud to be taking part once again this year, as we take the opportunity to showcase the well kept-cask ales that Almond Family Pubs are known for.
To celebrate, all our quizzes will be having a special one-off additional prize – where you can win your height of the tallest member of your team in cask ale! Whether you’re an expert in the ins and outs of cask, or you’re taking your first steps on the road to enlightenment, this is the perfect opportunity to celebrate Cask Ale Week in style.
Every week at each Almond Family Pub, we invite your favourite quizmasters to run the rule over your general knowledge. Entry is always free, and we accept teams of any size - with everyone duking it out for the chance to win from a £75 prize pot of vouchers that can be used in the Spread Eagle or any of our pubs.
Every Thursday from 8.30pm, our usual quizmaster Rob Keen hosts Romiley's favourite pub quiz.
Whether you're regularly testing your grey matter with us, or this would be your first time, all are welcome.
If you're looking for some brain food to help boost you up the rankings, our menu is served until 8.30pm, with our carvery closing half an hour earlier. No bookings necessary: simply walk-in, and a member of our team will make sure you are your team of whatever size are seated.
