Welcome to take part in an open dance practice during a weekend in October!
Time: 11.00 - 14.00
Date: 4/10 and 5/10
In the frame of her residency at Hägerstensåsen Medborgarhus, Korina Kordova will host two open encounters where she’ll offer a glimpse into her current research practice in choreography and dance.
We invite professional and non-professional dancers interested in experiencing the artistic proposition. Please register here:

During the encounters Korina will share some of the practices developed through her artistic research between the choreographic, the kinesthetic, and the autoethnographic, rooted in her experiences as a Brazilian migrant dancing body.
She will facilitate collective activations of dialogic practices between the human participants and "the ground"– an expanded notion of a common belonging that affects and holds all beings on Earth: a breathing entity, actual grounds, imaginary grounds, and traces of grounds from the Global South and Europe.
Together, we’ll engage in practices of connectivity and reciprocity with “the ground”, weaving materialities, embodied experiences, and scientific knowledge. Creating feedback between tuning, listening, moving, voicing, reading, and writing, we’ll tap into memory and ancestrality, trying to connect grounding and belonging.
Korina Kordova (she/her) is a Stockholm-based artist working within the confluences of choreography, dance and performance. Her practice meets the public as live choreographic works, dance performances, scores in both written and aural forms, installations, publications, and workshops. Her work has been presented in performing arts venues, festivals, museums and galleries in Europe and South America. She’s interested in decolonial aesthetics, mythmaking and magic, and her practice resonates with feminist new materialisms and anthropology beyond the human. As a dancer/performer, she has worked with dance companies, independent choreographers and directors in Europe and the Americas for the last twenty years. She trained as a dancer in her native São Paulo (BR) and in the Netherlands, and earned a Masters in Performance Practices from ArtEZ University of the Arts (NL). In 2021 she undertook an internship in the Master in Choreography Program at Stockholm University of the Arts, and in 2023 she completed the Postmaster “Materialities; energies” at The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (SE).
