Välkomna på en dansworkshop i vattnets tecken!
Genom Lisas erfarenheter av rituella och ceremoniella praktiker, och genom hennes tid på Kuba, bjuder hon in till en workshop i sötvattnets och det salta vattnets tecken.
Med utgångspunkt i den kubanska folklorens danspraktik och tradition dansar vi till gudinnorna Oshun, kärlekens och sensualitetens drottning, och till Yemayás stora hav, urmodern och skyddet.
Las Dos Aguas skapar ett kollektivt rum där fokus ligger på flöde, närvaro och att hämta hem, och på att lämna julruschen en stund.
Workshopen innehåller rörelser från den kubanska folkdansen, Bailes folklóricos de Cuba, med rötter i den afrodiasporiska traditionen på Kuba. Vi arbetar både med ren folklor till traditionell musik och med sekvenser där dessa kvaliteter möter mer pumpiga elektroniska ljud.
Deltagarna arbetar med en fras och med repetitiva rörelser över diagonalen i dessa två gudinnors tecken.

Lisa Janbell är koreograf, danskonstnär och pedagog vars praktik rör sig i gränslandet mellan ritual, social dans och samtida koreografi. Genom kollektiva processer och ceremoniella strukturer använder hon kroppen som ett instrument för att nå det undermedvetna, en plats där det transcendenta och det hängivna får ta fysisk form.
Hon har studerat folkdans vid El Instituto Superior de Arte i Havanna och deltagit i otaliga ceremonier i Brasilien, Benin och Kuba. Hennes genreöverskridande rörelsespråk bär spår från dessa platser och deras traditioner, liksom från de nattklubbs-dansgolv hon rört sig igenom, från Stockholm och Havanna till New York och Berlin.
Under sina 13 år som verksam koreograf har hon skapat verk för scenkonstinstitutioner, musikfestivaler, multidisciplinära projekt tillsammans med ljudkonstnärer, arkitekter och kompositörer, och beställningsuppdrag från artister. Hennes verk har presenterats i Sverige, Europa och Kuba på scener och festivaler som MDT, Dansens Hus, Inkonst, Fylkingen, Norbergfestivalen, Riksteatern, Way Out West, Augenblick Mal Festival (Berlin), Sónar (Barcelona) Teatro Raquel Revuelta (Havanna).
Förutom sitt eget arbete är hon en del av duon Dos Oké, tillsammans med Camilla Sivam, vaggan till hennes konstnärskap.

Welcome to a dance workshop in the spirit of water!
Drawing from Lisa’s experience with ritual and ceremonial practices, and from her time in Cuba, she invites you to a workshop dedicated to the element of water.
With the dance practice and tradition of Cuban folklore as our foundation, we dance with the goddesses Oshun, queen of love and sensuality, and Yemayá, the vast ocean, the primordial mother and protector.
Las Dos Aguas creates a collective space focused on flow, presence and returning home to oneself, and on stepping out of the holiday rush for a moment.
The workshop includes movements from the Cuban folk dance tradition, Bailes folklóricos de Cuba, rooted in the Afro-diasporic heritage of the island. We work both with pure folklore to traditional music and with sequences where these qualities meet more pumping electronic sounds.
Participants work with a phrase and with repetitive movements across the diagonal in the spirit of these two goddesses.
A fruit break is included.

About Lisa Janbell
Lisa Janbell is a choreographer, dance artist and educator whose practice moves in the borderland between ritual, social dance and contemporary choreography. Through collective processes and ceremonial structures, she uses the body as an instrument for reaching the subconscious, a place where the transcendent and the devoted can take physical form.
She has studied folk dance at El Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana and has taken part in numerous ceremonies in Brazil, Benin and Cuba. Her genre-crossing movement language carries traces from these places and their traditions, as well as from the nightclub dance floors she has moved through, from Stockholm and Havana to New York and Berlin.
Over her thirteen years as a choreographer, she has created works for performing arts institutions, music festivals, multidisciplinary collaborations with sound artists, architects and composers, as well as commissioned works for various artists. Her work has been presented in Sweden, across Europe and in Cuba at venues and festivals such as MDT, Dansens Hus, Inkonst, Fylkingen, Norbergfestivalen, Riksteatern, Way Out West, Augenblick Mal Festival (Berlin), Sónar (Barcelona) and Teatro Raquel Revuelta (Havana).
In addition to her own work, she is part of the duo Dos Oké together with Camilla Sivam, the cradle of her work.
