Fatal Folklore and Ferocious Fairytales

Meet three authors who tap into local lore and classic fairytales – and our deepest fears – to create wonderfully inventive crime novels.
Paper men hanging from trees, strange prophecies, eerie waxworks, and rituals in the woods hark back to creepy, forgotten tales in William Hussey’s absorbing Burying Jericho. A band with no name singing about fictional gods inadvertently attract a fervent and potentially fatal following in It’s Not a Cult by actor/singer Joey Batey. A serial killer obsessed with fairy tales is the delicious premise at the dark heart of AK Benedict’s smart and spellbinding new novel Little Red Death.
