Bands for the Brave is an annual all-day event that Canteen One and Canteen host in Stillwater, MN.
We celebrate our Veterans with a public concert event while raising money to support our partner H.O.O.A.H. (Helping Out Our American Heroes). H.O.O.A.H. is an organization that is run 100% by volunteers focused on supporting Veterans.
Canteen One and Canteen cover all of the costs of the event so that 100% of the proceeds raised can go directly to Veterans in need.
Additionally, H.O.O.A.H.'s operating and administrative costs are covered by grants, so all donations directly benefit our Veterans.
Bands for the Brave specifically supports H.O.O.A.H’s Victory for 22 program. 22 Veterans commit suicide every day.
We are supporting vulnerable Veterans by putting them through Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.). A.R.T. has been very successful in transforming Veteran’s lives so that they can be happy and successful.
This year, we’ve set an ambitious goal of $173,000, which will allow us to welcome hundreds of additional Veterans into these programs and expand the impact even further. With this money, 1st HOOAH MN will pay for 80+ flights to Warrior Wellness in Florida. This money will also support two organizations who have Accelerated Resolution Therapy programs right here in Minnesota. (Magnus Foundation and Eagles Healing Nest)
