Description: This week’s monthly COOL conversation will be about why the Reverand Doctor Fane Downs’ Benediction, Spoken by Pastor Ashley each Sunday, is the perfect algorithm for Progressive Christian Outcomes (PCOs). In simpler terms, we will ask, “Why does it work?!” To answer that question, we will apply what I call the RISE UP! method of analysis, which is to say that we will study the Rhetoric, Ideology, Semiotics (Syntax & Semantics), Universality, and Presbyterianism of Fane Downs’ Benediction. We will analyze the Benediction as, in fact, an actual algorithm or equation for generating the best version of Christianity. Oh, and we’ll be obedient, bold, energetic, and extravagant with the snacks that I provide!
