First Saturday Community Lunch

What to expect:
On the First Saturday of each month, October – June, in the First Church in Sterling Parish Hall (6 Meetinghouse Hill Road, Sterling) a dinner-like meal is served at 12 noon for anyone who would like to come. No charge. No reservations needed. The church and hall are handicapped accessible.

Who comes:
ALL are invited – singles, couples, families, all ages, all races, from any town – ALL. Church members come, non-members, anyone. How about YOU? Come and meet some new folks, enjoy special home-cooked meals, and feel WELCOME. It’s a great way to feel connected in this decade of disconnection.

How to volunteer:
Helping to make these meals happen is an antidote of sometime-helpless feelings in our chaotic world. On the day of the lunches help is needed in the morning to set up and cook; between 12 – 2 to serve, clean up the hall and the kitchen. Making desserts at home ahead is needed. School age children with the assistance of a parent love to help set up and serve.
