DIY Home: Watercolor Triptych

Ages: 13+/Adult party night.

Do you want something one-of-a-kind for your walls at home, but don’t have the budget to purchase original artwork? Well, come on! You can do it yourself. Miss Ruthie will teach students how to create an abstract watercolor triptych (a grouping of 3 paintings) to decorate your home. Students will learn simple watercolor, masking, and ink techniques, and gain an understanding of watercolor and its properties. Students will then frame each piece so it’s ready to hang once you get home. Students are welcome to bring frames from home to use because we believe it’s best to use what you’ve already got. However, the MAC has a stash of frames you can choose from for the class. Each student will leave class with 3 framed watercolors ready to spread joy across your walls. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks to the class and relax while making art.
