Showdown at Ghur Gulch: An Age of Sigmar Western
Saddle up, folks, the General’s Handbook is ridin’ into the sunset, and what better way to send it off than with a rootin’-tootin’ Age of Sigmar throwdown?
The current GHB is set deep in the wilds of Ghur, and if you ask me, that place just screams tumbleweeds, duels at high noon, and outlaw justice. So for this event, we’re takin’ a detour from the Mortal Realms and headin’ straight into the Old West, Sigmar-style.
Law and Disorder
For this here tournament, every player will ride into town with a standard 2,000-point army, but that ain’t all.
Each player must also bring:
- 1 additional non-unique infantry or cavalry hero from any army other than your main list's to serve as their Outlaw. (This model is not part of your main list and does not cost points.)
- 1 non-unique infantry or cavalry hero from your main list to act as your trusty Sheriff.
- 1 infantry unit from your main list to form your Posse.
It’s time to see who’s upholdin’ the law and who’s fixin’ to break it.
Stick-Ups & Shenanigans
Instead of battle tactics, y’all will be attemptin’ Stick-Ups with your Outlaw.
To perform a Stick-Up, mosey your Outlaw over to a piece of terrain.

Reckon your opponent might not take kindly to your thievin'? That’s where the law comes in.
If your opponent’s Sheriff or Posse gets into combat with your Outlaw, that varmint gets run outta town. Remove the Outlaw from the board, they’ll slink back in from a random board edge during your next movement phase, lookin’ for another chance to stir up trouble.
Rules of Engagement
- Outlaws, Sheriffs, and Posses cannot be targeted or attacked directly.
- They do not count towards objective control and cannot shoot or be shot at.
However, if one of these special units charges a standard unit, that unit may fight back in the normal combat sequence, just like a good ol’ barroom brawl.
(So watch where you’re swingin’, partner.)
This here showdown promises to be fast, fun, and a little unhinged, just the way Ghur likes it. Whether you're upholdin’ the law or breakin’ it for kicks, we’re lookin’ forward to seein’ who comes out on top in the Showdown at Ghur Gulch.
The entry fee for this tournament will be $20 with prizes given out as follows:
1st Place: 30% of total entries
2nd Place: 20% of total entries
3rd Place: 10% of total entries
Best Painted Outlaw: 20% of total entries (chosen by judge)
Favorite Outlaw 20% of total entries (voted by players)
Models:
All models should strive to be WYSIWYG.
All proxies must be submitted to and approved by the TO prior to list submission. If a proxied model is used in your list that was not cleared, you may be asked to remove the model and will have to play without it for the rest of the event.

Round 3: Battle for the Pass

We should start to have the daily updates of each army that are leading up to the GHB by the time of the event. Those updates are not officially matched play legal until the new GHB, but if yours has come out, you will be allowed to use it. If it wasn't obvious by the description, this is intended to be a purely fun event, why not let people use their shiny new toys.
