In the sun-bleached badlands of West Texas, an ordinary man named Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) stumbles upon the bloody aftermath of a deal gone wrong and makes a choice that will erase his life. He is hunted by Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem), an implacable figure who is less a man than a ghost of relentless consequence. Between them stands an aging sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones), a relic of a moral code that no longer seems to apply, watching the tide of a new darkness wash over the land he knows. No Country for Old Men is a stark, riveting elegy for the American West and a timeless meditation on the nature of chance, fate, and evil that defies all understanding.
