Wildfires: A Community Response (Free Class!)

In 2016, the Warm Springs Mesa was surrounded by a midnight wildfire. In the aftermath, the community realized that measures were needed to protect residents. UI Extension Master Gardener, Rod Haars will discuss these measures and the development of the Mesa Emergency Safety Action (MESA) program, an internal communication strategy. This class will cover how to prepare yourself, your family, and your neighborhood when an evacuation order is received. You'll learn about the MESA program development, implementation, and testing, and information on 'fireproofing' homes and yards.
