Likely to be our last bit of Live Music in the Garden for '25, We are delighted to announce The Slim Jim Blues Band will be gracing our stage.
Slim Jim Blues are a dirty blues band who play with a hill country swagger. Comprising of Slim Williams (drums), 2BadJim (guitar, vocal and cigar box) and TJ Harpenstein (harmonica, vocals and occasional cane flute). They exist to remind you that the blues is the most visceral and exciting music ever made.
People get ready to ride the backroads of the blues!
SlimJim was formed by Slim Williams and 2BadJim, two veterans of the infamous Leicester blues and Americana scene. How far, they wondered, could this stuff be stripped back.
What did it sound like in its most elemental form?
The music of the Missippippi hills offers an answer to this and every other question you’ve ever thought of. It gets pretty goddamn stripped back. And best of all there is no bass in sight.
SlimJim rocked the juke joints between 2015 and 2017 and then sank back into the hills. But suddenly they re-emerged to bring the hill country blues back to the people. This time with TJ Harpenstein on wailing harp and occasional cane flute adding to the authentic feel that you are travelling the lost highway of the blues.
If you like the blues, then you will love SlimJim. If you aren’t a blues fan, we think that it is just that you haven’t met the right band yet. Maybe SlimJim are what you’ve been looking for.
