The Theosophical Society of St. Petersburg is honored to have Douglas Bonar present the many aspects of oneness, wholeness and interbeing as the antidote, or alternative, to the illusion of separation which dominates humanity’s understanding of reality today and which results in the many crises which threaten our species’ trajectory into a healthy future. He will present this emerging model from the lenses of science, theology, philosophy, indigenous wisdom and aesthetics. Douglas will weave into the presentation the contribution to this evolutionary shift made by Theosophy. He will address the understanding, embodiment and the application of the shift in worldview consciousness and introduce cardinal books and authors leading the way on the journey. This is a journey of awakening and healing, personally and collectively. The presentation will not just be cognitive. It will be heart-centered and soul-centered. It will be immersive. Douglas will highlight that this is not a journey that can be taken alone and encourage group interaction.
About Douglas Bonar, Ed.S., LMHC
Douglas retired in 2024 after 45 years in the mental health profession. He worked for seven years in a maximum security prison with clients adjudicated incompetent to stand trial by reason of insanity; the next 23 years as a consultant to the State Attorney’s Office, law enforcement and the child protection system in cases of child abuse and neglect; and the last 15 years conducting court-ordered groups for clients arrested for domestic violence or to complete their case plans to regain custody of their children due to concerns of family violence. Douglas wrote and conducted parenting groups during his tenure as a consultant entitled Roots and Wings: The Balance of Healthy Parenting. He subsequently morphed the model to become Roots and Wings: Way of Wholeness for the groups for domestic violence offenders.
Since retiring, Douglas has been able to pursue his real passion, The Way of Wholeness. Douglas has been a member of the Institute of Noetic Sciences for over 25 years. He was the community organizer for the Suncoast Community Group in the Tampa Bay area for five years and served on the national IONS community group leadership counsel for two years. He is a member of many other organizations devoted to humanity’s evolution. He is a partner with The Connection Partners and with GrokingWholeness.info where he is pursuing his passion to help uplift humanity into our understanding and embodiment of the emerging shift to wholeness. He believes deeply that this is the sole way to address the polycrisis facing humanity today.
