✨ Knit Your Own Boxy Lady Summer Tee ✨
Create a breezy, wear-everywhere summer top in this two-session workshop featuring the Boxy Lady Top by Loopy Mango. Using Loopy Mango Summer, a 100% cotton yarn that drapes beautifully and keeps you cool, you’ll knit a relaxed silhouette that flatters every body, perfect for warm Florida days.
🧶 What You’ll Learn
Over two 2-hour sessions (one week apart), you’ll build a garment from the ground up and practice beginner-friendly techniques:
• Knitting in the round for a seamless lower body
• Transitioning from knitting in the round to knitting flat for armhole shaping
• Working classic 1x1 ribbing for neat edges
• Creating textured garter stitch (knit & purl rows)
• Picking up stitches around the armholes and knitting them in the round
• Seaming shoulders for a clean, professional finish
📏 Pattern at a Glance
• Experience level: Beginner (must already know how to cast on, bind off, knit & purl)
• Finished chest width: approx. 22"–28" (XS–3X)
• Length: approx. 13.5"–20" depending on size
• Yarn required: 4–6 skeins of Loopy Mango Summer (100% cotton, 90 yds per skein)
• Needles: US 17 (12 mm) circular needles, 20" or longer
The top is worked bottom-up in one piece, then split at the armholes to work front and back separately before seaming the shoulders and adding tidy ribbed armhole finishes.

👩🏫 About the Instructor
Amy Mendelblatt learned to knit as a child from her grandmother and has since completed countless sweaters, hats, scarves, and blankets for herself, friends, and family. She’s not afraid to re-knit or even perform “sweater surgery”—ask her about the time she cut a finished sweater in half to make it longer! Amy is happiest with a project in hand, especially while knitting outside on a cool day.
