I’m very excited to announce this month’s edition of STL Unplugged at Pop's Blue Moon! 🌚 💙
Every 3rd Thursday, I’ll be hosting some of STL’s greatest songwriters for an intimate, “unplugged”/listening room experience. Stripped down solo acoustic performances by artists that are usually only seen in electric/full-band settings. For the second installment, I’m joined by two dear friends and major inspirations:
✨ Cody Perkins – “From the backwoods of Lonely Dell,” Cody Perkins is a one-of-a-kind artist who refuses to be confined to a single genre or medium. He creates unapologetically, expressing himself exactly as he sees fit. I think that may be the heart of what makes his music so compelling. Best known as the mastermind and frontman of the country/“hick-hop” band The Magnificent Mullets, Cody also captivates festival audiences nationwide with fully improvised, mind-bending, and often downright hilarious live loop sets. He was one of the first artists I envisioned for this series, and seeing him in this raw, stripped-down acoustic setting will be a rare treat that both longtime fans and new listeners won’t want to miss.
✨ Rich Fleetwood – Originally from Granite City, IL, Rich is well-known on the Midwest festival circuit as the frontman of the beloved Fleetwood and Family, a blues-based jam band with a wholesome, loving vibe that’s truly unmatched. Joined by his brother Matt Fleetwood and cousin Jessica Doyle, F&F creates shows that are nothing short of magical. You can always count on leaving with a new earworm stuck in your head and your heart full of joy. Beneath the big band sound, Rich’s songs carry a depth of soul and heartache that sometimes goes unnoticed. That’s why I’m especially excited to hear them in this intimate setting, performed the way they were originally written.
I have some incredible talent lined up for the months ahead, but this month feels especially close to my heart with these two gentlemen. Both of them have played a big role in my journey, and I hope you can make it out for a very special night of hearing these songs like you never have before.
