August 28, 1985... 39 years ago tonight was the sneak-peek Gala preview of the St. Louis Union Station Entertainment Company.
That means one year from tomorrow will be our 40th anniversary, and hopefully our 40th Reunion.
August 29, 2025 is on a Friday. So, I’m going to throw out the date of Saturday, August 30, 2025 for our 40th Reunion.
It is Labor Day weekend, though, for those who like to travel on a long weekend.
I’m also going to throw out that we have an AFTERNOON reunion that can run as long as we want in hopes of not falling asleep waiting for a 7pm start and wanting to be home by 10pm. (Yes, I am an old man.)
Regarding location, Kurt Ramspott has a WONDERFUL suggestion… meet at the Kirkwood train station and take the train out to Washington for the day. Kurt and his wife Heidi have a bakery and there’s loads to do downtown with lunch bars and dinner.
Another alternative is having the reunion at The Loading Dock in Grafton, IL. It's a great place on the water with fire pits, and I can reserve a set-aside area for us. I can also reserve the little house on the river some of us stayed in for the evening. (I can finance the reservation fees.)
These are just ideas... I'm open to any suggestions you all might have including date, time, location, etc. Nothing is set yet and I welcome ALL input!
