About the event

Building An Herbal Apothecary at Home: Herbs for Winter Wellness
Monthly Sunday "Make & Take" Workshop Series:

Get ready for cold/flu season with a variety of herbal formulas crafted from common local and kitchen herbs. Learn winter wellness recipes using herbs commonly found in the wild, the garden, and even the kitchen. Plants like pine, thyme, and anise are some of the most potent allies traditionally used in teas, steams, balms, and syrups during cold and flu season. We’ll make at least one traditional herbal remedy to help support your family’s winter wellness!

Join community herbalist Erin Narey for hands-on herbalism classes on Sundays in September, October, and November. Learn traditional uses for common wild and household herbs as we identify local wild plants; safe, ethical harvesting techniques; and easy folk formulas to promote wellness. Every workshop will include a demonstration and the opportunity to make at least one herbal tea, tincture, salve, or syrup as you build your very own Herbal Home Apothecary!

* $15 suggested donation/members, $25 suggested donation/non-members per session payable directly to the Erin by cash or check *

Learn to identify and use a variety of late winter/early spring herbs in easy homemade formulas including teas, tinctures, honeys, and more. We’ll talk about early favorites like dandelion and nettle and how to harvest tree allies like white pine and cedar following storms. We’ll make traditional spring tonics to wake our minds and bodies after a long, dark winter, and learn a list of wild herbs to look out for (and plant in our gardens) as spring and summer bloom!
