From the moment you arrive, you will be welcomed into a ceremonial field woven with prayer, elemental energy, and ancestral presence. This is not just a workshop — it is a remembering, a crossing into a timeless realm where your drum awaits you.
We will gather in circle, grounding into the heartbeat of the Earth. Together we will call in the Four Directions, the Earth below, the Sky above, the Ancestors, and Spirit Allies who walk with us.
Here you will set your intention and meet the spirit of the drum that is waiting to be born through you.
Choosing Your Drum Size & Hide
This is the moment of listening. Each hoop and hide carries its own story, its own medicine, its own ancient voice. You will be guided to choose the size and hide that resonates with your spirit — whether it is deer, elk, or buffalo. This choice is not made with the mind, but with the heart, as you feel which drum is calling to you.
You will receive your rawhide, hoop, and lacing — the living gifts of tree and animal, woven with life force. Before creation begins, we will pause to honor them with blessing and gratitude, acknowledging the sacred birthing.
With step-by-step guidance, you will lace, weave, and stretch your drum into form. Every pull of the cord becomes a prayer. Every knot carries intention. Every breath becomes part of the heartbeat that is awakening.

• You are invited to bring sacred items for the altar (crystals, feathers, photos, prayers, or offerings).
• Please dress in comfortable layers. We honor the body’s natural rhythms.
• Bring water, a journal, and anything that supports your comfort.
