Are you curious about birding or a new birder?
In conjunction with the Sing Out Loud Festival’s Live Wildly Showcase, SJRA Director Taza Jenkins is hosting an introductory bird walk for festival goers before the start of the Festival around the beautiful Mission Nombre de Dios grounds to set a nature-filled tone for the rest of the day.
We’ll take in the nature around us and look for some of the many birds in Historic Downtown St. Augustine! We will meet on the start of the paved walking path to the side of the Mission Nombre de Dios Museum. This walk will last about 90 minutes on the paved path. It should be hot and likely sunny so please wear a hat and comfortable shoes, bring some water, and otherwise keep yourself cool, hydrated, and protected from the sun. You don’t need be an experienced birder or to have binoculars to join this walk. We’ll provide as many pairs of binoculars as we can to share among the group.
This walk is limited to 18 festival goers.
Come on out to start your music-filled day with birdsong!
We encourage you to consider joining the SJRA. You can join for as little as $15/year, which will can help us continue and expand our work. To join the SJRA, follow this link: https://stjohnsaudubon.com/membership/
