Art Workshop - Watercolor Insects with Heath Odgen

Join us as we study our tiniest friends in this guided watercolor workshop. We will learn a step-by-step process for painting realistic insects. Artist, scientist, and professor Heath Ogden will help us explore how to capture fine details, brilliant color, and buggy texture. This workshop is a fun way to look closer at the world around us.

Heath Ogden is a professor at Utah Valley University, and he is currently the Chair of the Department of Biology. He specializes in Entomology, Evolution, and Bioinformatics, and in his research, has explored the origin of insect flight using phylogenetics. He is not only a entomologist but an artist. He has practiced art since high school. In the last year Heath and daughter AJ wrote and illustrated a book called The Orders: Insects in Watercolor. The book is the culmination of his passions.
