Sam Stewart is a Conservation Educator from the West Plains office of the
Missouri Department of Conservation. In addition to being a trainer and
teacher of outdoor skills, he is an accomplished fly fisher and fly tyer.
He spends most of his fishing time paddling Ozark streams in pursuit of
Smallmouth Bass. This addiction has led to tying a lot of different bass flies
from baitfish to crayfish to topwater.
We have intended to have Sam come to teach us some of his patterns and
techniques for a long time, so we’re pleased now to have this opportunity for
our members.
He will teach two patterns, if time allows: the Murdich Minnow (novice skill)
and the Foxy Deceiver (intermediate skill).
All hooks and materials will be provided.
