Galloway Street Widening Project Block Party Celebration

The City of Springfield will host a block party on Tuesday, Oct. 14 to celebrate the soon-to-be-completed Galloway Street Widening Project and thank the community for their patience during construction. Hotdogs and refreshments will be served from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at All Saints Anglican Church (2751 E Galloway St.).

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about upcoming landscaping and placemaking plans and provide feedback.

Contractor Hartman and Company is currently wrapping up the project with construction of the northern roundabout connection at Lone Pine Avenue. Lone Pine is anticipated to reopen on Monday, Oct. 6, at which time all roadways within the project area will be open to traffic utilizing a temporary driving surface. Crews expect to apply the final layer of asphalt on Oct. 10 with roadway striping to follow soon after.

The Galloway Block Party is a come-and-go event. Announcements and appreciation will be shared by the project team around 6 p.m.
