Book Discussion: “The Anxious Generation”

Facilitator: Jeff Kuehn, Springfield Elementary Principal

This is a FREE event and will take place in the Media Center - enter door E2 on the east side of the building.

Throughout the 2025-2026 school year, the teaching staff has discussed “The Anxious Generation” authored by Jonathan Haidt.

The author identifies the great rewiring of childhood due to the widespread use of phones and social media. The traditional “play-based childhood” have shifted to a “phone-based childhood”. Consequently, social and neurological development have been affected. The book also addresses solutions for parents and schools to explore.

This discussion is open to all adult community members. Pre-registration is not necessary. (It is not necessary to read the book prior to the book discussion, but it may be helpful and interesting).
