📖✨ NEW STUDY SERIES STARTING! ✨📖
We’re kicking off a brand-new journey:
“Jeremiah – My Covenant with the Lord” 🙌
From “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you” (Jer. 1:5) to the promise of a New Covenant written on our hearts (Jer. 31:33), the book of Jeremiah teaches us how to walk in confidence, courage, and covenant relationship with God.
👉 This week
In Jeremiah 5, God commands the prophet to search Jerusalem for even one person who acts justly and seeks truth. If such a person could be found, God would forgive the city. But Jeremiah discovers that from the poor to the powerful, the people are stubborn, dishonest, and rebellious against the Lord.
Though God has disciplined them through hardship, they have refused correction. Instead of repenting, they persist in idolatry and injustice. Leaders—both prophets and priests—have become corrupt, speaking lies and leading the people astray. The people love these false assurances and resist the call to return to God.
Because of this unrepentant sin, God warns of impending judgment: foreign nations will invade like a devouring lion and destroy the land. Yet God also declares that this destruction will not be total—He will not make a “full end” of His people, leaving open the door for mercy and restoration.
