Fall Family Weekend is coming, and we all know what that means... marathon readings of ancient epics!
Have you read the Aeneid? All of it? All at once? That's what the Classics Department is doing Friday, October 3, with the help of the Classics Club and Eta Sigma Phi. Starting at 10:00 AM and ending who-knows-when (we're thinking between 8 and 10 PM), a succession of volunteers will recite the entirety of Virgil's epic out loud (and in English) in the second-floor Jundt Lounge in Hemmingson Center. (That's the big, two-story lounge that projects over the main entrance.)
All are welcome--students, faculty, staff, visiting parents, anyone who's interested--to drop in and take a turn reading. Or just hang out and hear all about the wandering of Aeneas and his displaced Trojans. Come for a bit, come and go, or come for the whole thing! Friends and family can join in too!
