We are having a land dedication ceremony 3pm, September 28 at 2607 S. Ray Street, Spokane. Everyone is invited to attend. Guests include LaRae Wiley a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes and co-founder and Executive Director of Salish School of Spokane who will sing and drum, bagpiper Kenyon Fields, and many local dignitaries.
This event precedes demolition of the building this fall to make way for 22 units of affordable housing apartments with a focus on refugees and homeless families, and a combined community and worship space.
Established in 1909, Bethany Presbyterian is a PC(USA) church on Spokane’s South Hill. The building’s sanctuary was destroyed by fire Epiphany Sunday, January 2, 2022. Since then, congregants have been working with Proclaim Liberty, The Presbytery of the Inland Northwest, and others raising funds to build much-needed affordable housing along with a new worship space.
Bethany Presbyterian Church warmly extends God’s own welcome, and ours as well, to people of all races, nationalities, cultures, backgrounds, abilities, economic situations, marital conditions, sexual orientations, and political and theological viewpoints.
