Amplifying Women's Voices: Level Up

Join us for Amplifying Women's Voices on Wednesday, October 8th for a conversation about practical strategies to level up. We will talk about the habits that can hold you back and move you forward on your professional path, as outlined in the book How Women Rise. We will touch on how to create authentic professional connections, claim your achievements, and craft an elevator pitch. Our incredible panel of female leaders includes:

Becky Bull Schaefer, PhD, is a tenured Professor in Gonzaga's School of Business, where she serves as the SHRM chapter advisor. She currenlty serves on the Women Helping Women Fund Board of Trustees. Becky is a two-time DisruptHR speaker and Leadership Spokane graduate and lifetime member. Her favorite quote is Ruth Bader Ginsburg's response to the question "When will there be enough women on the Supreme Court?", to which she replied "When there are nine."

Julie Kelsey, MBA, is an Executive Coach and Leadership Development Consultant who serves as instructor for the Gonzaga University Certificate in Women's Leadership. She is President of Rotary Club 21 of Spokane and past President for Embrace Washingston. She earned her MBA at University of Montana and is an iPEC Certified Professional Coach. Her favorite quote is "Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." ~ Maria Robinson

Kaylie Lewis is an emerging leader who manages the Spokane Valley Branch of ICCU. She serves on the Board of Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho and is passionate about community service. She previously spoke at the Journal of Business Women in Leadership event and is focused on mentorship and fostering growth. She earned her BS in Data Analytics at WSU and completed the Gonzaga University Certificate in Women's Leadership in 2024.

Renee Smock is the Chief Operating Officer for Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, which is dedicated to growing our next generation of women leaders. She serves on the Board of Executive Women Int'l of Spokane and as a Fairchild Air Force Base AMC Civic Leader. Renee completed the Gonzaga University Women in Leadership Certificate and is a proud graduate of Leadership Spokane. Her favorite quote is: "The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity." ~Amelia Earhart

Sandra Walker is Chief Operating Officer of Fairmount Memorial Association and is a licensed Funeral Director in Washington and Idaho, where she also holds Insurance Producer licenses. Sandra is a Founding Member of the Death Care Collective and currently serves as Vice President of CANA. She was awarded Professional of the Year by the WCCFA and WFDA in 2023. Sandra is a Leadership Spokane graduate and completed the Gonzaga University Certificate in Women's Leadership.
