Izložba OKVIR ZA OTOK - hvarski motivi iz fundusa Muzeja hvarske baštine, predstavlja tematski izbor dosad neizlaganih slika i grafika iz Zbirke moderne i suvremene umjetnosti. Izložba je ujedno i prigoda da se javnost podsjeti vrijedne zbirke čiji je stalni postav bio izložen u galeriji Arsenal od 1957. do 2005. godine, a koja se posljednjih dvadeset godina nalazi izvan pogleda javnosti, pohranjena u spremištu muzeja.
Na izložbi će biti izloženo četrdesetak djela hrvatskih umjetnika, nastalih između 1925. i 2009. godine. Posebno mjesto na izložbi imaju umjetnici porijeklom ili boravkom vezani uz otok Hvar kao što su Ivo Dulčić, Jakov Bratanić, Nikša Barišić Art i Marin Ribarić. Spomenimo još i mapu litografija Dušana Kokotovića iz 1925., zatim crteže s povijesnim motivima Tomislava Petrovića iz 1981., izbor bakropisa iz mapa Lucić i Hektorović Fadila Vejzovića, a tu su i djela najistaknutijih hrvatskih umjetnika 1980-ih okupljenih u grafičkoj mapi Hvar iz 1988.
Ova izložba nije samo pregled slika s motivima našeg otoka, ona je susret vizija, doživljaja i interpretacija Hvara, umjetnika koji su privučeni njegovom magičnom ljepotom i poviješću i sami postali dijelom umjetničke priče koja traje.

The exhibition FRAME FOR THE ISLAND - Hvar motifs from the holdings of the Hvar Heritage Museum presents a thematic selection of previously unexhibited paintings and graphics from the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art. The exhibition is also an opportunity to remind the public of the valuable collection whose permanent display was exhibited in the Arsenal Gallery from 1957 to 2005, and which has been out of public view for the past twenty years, stored in the museum's depot.
The exhibition will feature around forty works by Croatian artists created between 1925 and 2009. A special place in the exhibition is given to artists whose origins or residence are connected to the island of Hvar, such as Ivo Dulčić, Jakov Bratanić, Nikša Barišić Art and Marin Ribarić. Let us also mention the lithography map by Dušan Kokotović from 1925, then the drawings with historical motifs by Tomislav Petrović from 1981, a selection of etchings from the Lucić and Hektorović maps by Fadil Vejzović, and there are also the works of the most prominent Croatian artists of the 1980s gathered in the graphic map Hvar from 1988.
This exhibition is not just a review of paintings with motifs of our island, it is a meeting of visions, experiences and interpretations of Hvar, by artists who were attracted by its magical beauty and history and who themselves became part of the ongoing artistic story.
