The Race to the River and Festival will kick off at Spencer Town Park with a 5K and Fun Run Race to the River. All proceeds will go to Spencer Community Garden.

8 AM to 2 PM: Medication Take-Back

8:30 AM: Ride to the River (20-mile)
8:45 AM: Ride to the River (7-mile)
Join The Pedal Factory for a ride to the Yadkin River! Two route options available: 7 mile to River Park and back, 20 miles into Davidson County and back. Supported with rest stop at the River Park, SAG vehicle, and ride leader/sweeper. Helmets required. Cost is $15; register online at

9 AM: Race to the River 5K
Check-In / Packet Pick Up: 8-8:45 AM at Spencer Town Park Pavilion.
This is a fast point-to point-course (view map). Rowan Creek Week's fourth annual Race to the River 5K will begin at 9 AM near Spencer Town Park at the intersection of 3rd Street and Salisbury Avenue in Spencer and follow US-29 North to the finish line at Spencer's Yadkin River Park Trailhead (Old NC Finishing Company) and the Wil-Cox Bridge. Trolley shuttles (sponsored by Novant Health) will provide transportation back to Spencer Town Park for the Race Awards and the Race to the River Festival. Each participant will receive a race t-shirt and sponsor bag with miscellaneous treats and gifts. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Spencer Community Garden.

10:15 AM: Fun Run

Following the 5K, a 1/2-mile youth fun run will be held at the new Spencer Town Park. Runners 12 & under will run 4 laps around the park. Each participant will receive a race t-shirt and sponsor bag with miscellaneous treats and gifts.

10:30 AM: Awards
Following the races at Spencer Town Park:
5K - Top 3 Overall Male & Female, Top 3 Masters Male & Female, Top 3 in each age group Male & Female: 10 & Under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & Over
Fun Run - Top 3 overall (ages 12 and under)
Timing and scoring for the 5K will be provided by Salisbury Rowan Runners.
11 AM: Welcome to the Race to the River Festival
Welcome patrons, vendor booths, and food trucks to the Race to the River Festival. All activities will occur at the new Spencer Town Park.
11:30 AM to 2 PM: Free Bike Rodeo
From 11:30 AM to 2 PM, enjoy a free bike rodeo with The Pedal Factory at Spencer Town Park.
