An Afternoon with Philip Stopford

We are delighted to welcome one of England’s best-known composers to First Presbyterian Church on September 28 at 3:00pm for a free concert, featuring one of Philip’s most recent compositions, the Mass of God With Us for choir.

Philip’s career began at age seven with an audition for the famed Westminster Abbey Choir in London on a day he thought his parents were taking him to the zoo. He was immediately accepted, and his five years there proved to be the launching point for what quickly became hugely successful career as an organist, conductor, and composer. Our own music library at FPC holds more than a dozen of his more than 100 published compositions.

His compositional style is warm, colorful, and engaging. Please come and invite a friend for a musical treat!
