Jonathan Kranz, a mushroom enthusiast, former park ranger (Boston Harbor Islands), and current vice president of the Boston Mycological Club, will cover the basics of mushroom habits, identification, and ecology, and help prepare participants for safe, exciting forages of their own.
The walk is limited to 30 people, first-come, first-serve. The parking lot is off Route 30, just east of Northborough Rd and west of Chestnut Hill Rd. The GPS coordinates are

Parking: 1) Main Street (rt 30) parking lot (6 cars). DO NOT drive past the "authorized vehicles only" sign in the parking lot.; 2) at the intersection of Northborough Rd and Main Street; 3) Trustees hiking parking lot on Chestnut Hill Rd; 4) Along the street on the shoulder; 5) At Red Gate Lane or Hickory Road cul-de-sacs and walk to the Main Street entrance (10 minute walk).
